This Armor of God Belt of Truth craft is one of my absolute favorites in the whole Ephesians 6 series. Simple supplies, a free printable template, and just a little glue are all it takes to give your child a wearable hands-on reminder that God’s truth is their greatest foundation every single day!

It’s also a wonderful way to help every child connect a visual object to an important verse about honesty, truth, and faith.

Armor of God Truth Belt Craft

The belt of truth is one of the first pieces mentioned in the Armor of God passage found in Ephesians 6. In the Bible, the belt held everything together.

That makes it such an important topic to discuss during an Armor of God lesson or Bible lesson.

This belt-of-truth craft uses a painted paper-plate strip to create the belt base, along with layered paper details resembling a belt buckle and a hanging fabric detail. The finished look is simple, colorful, and easy enough for a student, teacher, or parent to prepare using everyday supplies.

This craft comes together in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Create the Belt Base

Start by cutting a long horizontal strip from your paper plate. This becomes the main belt section.

Paint the paper plate strip brown and allow it to dry completely. Once dry, use a marker to outline the belt’s edges and draw small dots across the surface to give it a more finished look.

Instructions

1. Create the Belt Base

Layer the circular buckle pieces on top of each other and glue them together. This creates the belt buckle and adds a finished look to the center of the project.

Glue the red paper piece behind the brown belt strip so it extends slightly below the bottom edge. Position it evenly to create the appearance of fabric hanging beneath the belt.

5. Add the Buckle and Label

Attach the completed buckle to the center of the belt. Then glue the "Truth" label onto the front of the belt where it can be easily seen.
