Swampy Jello Cups (Halloween Party Dessert)
For those of you who are looking for an easy kids halloween dessert, you are in the right place. These adorable green jello cups with gummy worms are fun for kids to make and take to a Halloween or Fall party, a mad scientist party, or get together with friends. You make this dessert by suspending gummy worms in green jello, letting the jello harden, and then garnishing the jello with a full size gummy worm “crawling” over the side of the cup. We love to make fun party and crafty foods!

How long does it take for jello to set?
It typically takes 4 hours for the jello to fully set.
We experimented and didn’t realize that if you put the gummy worms in the cups right after you pour the jello into the cups, the gummy worms will dissolve from the warmth of the jello! This is a problem!! So what we realized as we experimented with this is that it’s important to refrigerate the jello for at least half hour before putting the gummy worms in.
And after putting the jello in the fridge to chill for 1 hour, we were able to put the gummy worm in the middle of the cup. So when we waited an hour, the jello was thick enough for the gummy worms to not sink to the bottom of the cup. So just experiment with it and put extra in gummy worms . That’s what makes this dessert fun!

Add gummy worms to the Jell-o when ready and chill for 4 hours..
Top each Jell-o cup with whipped cream.

Add a gummy worm and sanding sugar to finish off the top.
