What supplies are needed to make a popsicle turkey craft?
- Construction Paper
- Craft glue
- Popsicle sticks
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Sharpie
Instructions:
Select colored craft papers for the turkey puppet craft. Trace the template patterns on the papers and cut them out nicely.
Grab the two shell patterns and stick the small cutout on the top (near the bottom side) of the big cutout. These are the tail feathers of the turkey puppet.
Stick the small circle (head) with the big circle (lower body) by overlapping a cm of both pieces.
Stick the wattle cutout near the bottom side of the small circle and then stick the beak cutout on the side of the wattle.
Use a sharpie to draw the eyes of the turkey puppet on the small circle, above the beak and wattle.
Attach the body piece (the circles) on the tail feather pattern, making sure that the tail feather patterns are visible on the top side of the body pattern.
Attach the turkey papercraft on a popsicle stick to complete the craft.
Once you’ve finished your cute turkey, snap a photo and share it on social media. Thanksgiving celebrations are all about community, and what better way to contribute than by inspiring others with your fun Thanksgiving fun? So, once you’re done with your Turkey Day crafting session, remember to share and spread the joy.
Can I customize the popsicle turkey craft?
The beauty of this simple Thanksgiving craft lies in its flexibility. Want your turkey’s head to have a different color? Swap out the brown construction paper. Thinking of giving your turkey a fun expression? Add a pair of googly eyes. From the turkey’s beak and turkey feet to the back of the turkey – every part can be personalized.
Do I need to spend much?
Most of the supplies, like popsicle sticks and construction paper in brown color, red paper, white paper, and orange paper, can be sourced from your local dollar store. And while a hot glue gun might seem specialized, a simple Elmer’s glue or craft glue will work just as well. Remember, it’s about the experience and the fun way of spending time, not the cost.
Remember, it’s about having fun. While this is an easy popsicle stick turkey craft, it’s okay if it’s not perfect. The memories created during the crafting process, the laughter, the adorable mistakes – that’s the true essence of the Thanksgiving holiday. So, grab those craft sticks, and let the fun begin. Whether you’re making turkey popsicle stick puppets, adding craft feathers, or just enjoying some pumpkin pie afterward, it’s all a part of the joyous Thanksgiving celebrations.
Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving filled with love, gratitude, and of course, the cutest Thanksgiving crafts!
