Next, you will need a piece of paper. Again, you can use any type of paper, but we recommend using cardstock or construction paper for the best results. Finally, you will need to download this free printable with the USA-themed drawings to create the handprint art.

This patriotic handprint flag is a fun and easy Independence Day craft. For this Happy Independence Day USA printable, you will need red, white, and blue paint and this free printable. Print this free PDF download on thick paper, such as card stock or construction paper.

Now that you have all your supplies, it’s time to start your project. We’ll start with a simple hand flag on the free printable. Start by putting some blue paint on the palm of your child’s hand.

Next, have your child put red paint on their fingers. Then, have your child place their hand on the paper and press down firmly. After the paint has dried, it would be fun to add details such as the white stars to the painted picture.

You could add star stickers to the handprint art or use white paint to draw stars on the hand after the paint has dried.
