Fun & Easy Vehicles Popsicle Stick Frame Craft
Materials Needed to Make This Craft:
- Popsicle sticks (large and small)
- Red, black, white, and blue poster paint
- Paintbrushes
- Glue gun and stick glue
- Printable
- Scissors or cutter
- Yarn
- Paper for the back of the frame (10 x 11 cm)
- Red and yellow pompoms (optional; you can use circle cut papers)
Directions:
Start by printing the provided printable template after downloading it. Cut out the shapes you printed for the cars’ bumpers and side mirrors.
Let’s start with the fire truck. Paint one black and five red large popsicle sticks. Paint the tip of two red popsicle sticks to resemble the truck’s wheels.
Let it dry for about 10 mins or so.
Cut about 2 cm from a large popsicle stick and about 1 cm off the tip of small blue and red popsicle sticks while you wait for the paint to dry. These will serve as the fire truck’s siren.
Now let’s assemble our fire truck.
Begin with the vertical sticks (the ones with black paint on the tip). Use a glue gun to glue one red popsicle stick horizontally at the top end of the sticks.
The black stick at the bottom follows, leaving the tip with black paint so the vehicle will have wheels.
Then, add the last two red popsicle sticks to complete the truck’s body.
Next, attach the side mirrors, bumper, and plate cutouts as shown in the picture below.
Followed by the yellow and red pompoms, which act as the headlights and signal lights of the truck.
Repeat the same process for the ambulance and police car, but remember to use blue paint for the police car and white and red for the ambulance.
Let the craft dry completely before handling or displaying it.

These trimmed pieces will form the fire truck’s siren. - Assemble the Fire Truck - Start by placing the two popsicle sticks with black tips vertically (these will be the sides of the truck). Use a glue gun to attach one red stick horizontally at the top, followed by the black stick at the bottom (leaving the black tips visible as wheels). Add the remaining two red sticks to complete the truck’s body.
- Add Details - Attach the precut side mirrors, bumper, and license plate pieces as shown in the reference image. Glue yellow and red pompoms where the headlights and signal lights should be.
