Bible Verses to Comfort after the Loss of a Child

God Cares for you and is near to the brokenhearted, even when sometimes you may not feel it at that moment or during that situation.  The feelings of loss can be so strong and it may feel like no one around you understands the pain of miscarriage.  Verses of God’s promises for comfort will give you peace and let you know that God loves you and will be with you during deep grief.

1.  Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” 

This verse reminds us that God is near when we are brokenhearted and He will provide us with strength as we heal. It also serves as a reminder that He will not abandon us in our pain but rather stay by our side until we are whole again. 

2.  Psalm 23:4 “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” 

In the context of “walking through the darkest valley,” this verse refers to facing the most challenging times in life. The assurance is that even in these dark and trying periods, there is no need to fear because God is present, providing comfort and protection. 

3.  Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
