How to Make a Rocking Carrot Paper Craft

Yield: 1 Paper Carrot
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Active Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

This adorable carrot paper craft is perfect for Easter or a garden-themed craft.

Materials

  • Construction Paper in orange, Green and White
  • Glue or Glue Stick
  • Black Marker
  • Scissors

Tools

  • Start by taking a sheet of orange construction paper and tracing a circle—using a plate or a circular lid works well for getting a neat shape. Carefully cut out the circle, then fold it in half. This folded half-circle will form the main “body” of your carrot craft.
  • Next, take a piece of green construction paper and cut out a rectangle. Fold the rectangle in half (or simply hold it so it’s slightly creased) and, on one side, cut multiple strips—leaving about half an inch or so uncut at the top to hold them together. These strips will look like the leafy top of the carrot. Gently spread the strips apart to create a fringed effect, then attach the top edge of your green “leaf” piece to the back of the orange folded circle.
  • For the eyes, cut two smaller circles from white paper (or any contrasting color) and color in the centers with a marker to make pupils. Glue or tape these eyes onto the front of the orange folded circle, positioning them near the top.
  • Finally, use your marker to draw slightly curved lines on the orange paper, simulating the natural creases or ridges found on a carrot. Add as many lines as you like for a fun, realistic touch. Once you’re satisfied, your carrot-inspired craft is complete!
