Step-by-Step Guide to Building Your Own Nativity Scene
Start by creating the Stable:

This is a simple stable for Baby Jesus to rest.

Using brown 2×2 roof tiles and tan bricks, you can construct a small shelter that fits right onto your green base plate.

Don’t forget to add a little arch for that classic nativity look.

Next, Build the Manger for Baby Jesus
The manger is where Baby Jesus will rest, so use six tan 1×1 round bricks, two tan 3×3 ¼ circle plates, one tan 2×2 tile, and one tan 1×1 brick with knobs.

Assemble them into a cozy little bed, and place a blank minifigure head for Baby Jesus on top.

This symbolizes the birth of Jesus and ties the scene together beautifully.

Make a Star to Go on Top of The Stable
Without the iconic star shining above the stable, no Lego Nativity Scene would be complete!

Craft the star using yellow 1×1 plates, a yellow 1×3 plate, and round yellow plates.

Place it at the top of your stable to signify the star of Bethlehem, guiding the Wise Men.

Add Minifigures for Mary, Joseph, the Wisemen, and the Shepherds
Now it’s time to add the minifigures. Place Mary, Joseph, and a few shepherds around the manger.

You can use construction paper to create period-appropriate clothing for the minifigures.

As for the Wise Men, they can carry small gifts made from any Lego bricks you like—silver cones, gold cylinders, whatever strikes your fancy.
Baby Jesus is simply a blank minifigure head on a white 1×1 brick.
Once you’ve assembled your Lego Nativity Scene, feel free to personalize it! Add some trees, animals, or extra figures from your Lego advent calendar to enhance the scene.
You can challenge children to create animals for the scene. We made a sheep using white 1×2 plates and a black specialty piece, but the possibilities are endless.
