How to Make a Carrot Paper Plate Craft:

Let’s create the garden’s background. Trim the edges of the paper plate to make the sides a bit flat. Paint it blue for the sky. Let it dry.

For the soil part, cut a piece of cardboard or brown cardstock into a half-circle, about the same size as half of your paper plate. Paint it brown if using cardboard, then let it dry.

Glue the brown paper onto the bottom half of the paper plate, leaving the top edge unglued so you can insert the carrots later.

Cut three carrot shapes from orange paper. Use a marker to draw small lines on them to resemble real carrots.

Also, cut a long rectangle from green paper. Snip small strips along one edge to make the leafy tops. Glue a leafy top to each carrot.

Materials

  • Colored paper (we used green, white and orange)
  • Scissors
  • Paper Plate
  • Glue
  • Paint (brown and blue)
  • Paint brush

Instructions

  1. Create the Garden Background
    Trim the edges of a paper plate so the sides are slightly flat. Paint the surface blue to represent the sky, and let it dry completely.
  2. Prepare the Soil
    Cut a piece of cardboard or brown cardstock into a half-circle about the same width as your paper plate. If you’re using cardboard, paint it brown and wait for it to dry.
  3. Assemble the Base
