Choose your favorite page, make a copy on white cardstock, trim along the crop marks, and add the party details by hand. These generic fairy tale invitation templates do not feature named Disney characters.

The free PDF is available near the bottom of this post.

Complete the event with a printable Happy Birthday banner and these Happy Birthday coloring pages.

What is included?

The five-page collection contains:

  1. A purple sparkling royal palace invitation
  2. A princess and gold carriage invitation
  3. A purple crown option with full party-detail lines
  4. A rainbow crown option with full party-detail lines
  5. An underwater mermaid princess option

The purple and rainbow crown pages are the easiest choices when you want clearly labeled spaces for the recipient, event, date, location, and RSVP information. The other three options have fewer fields, so some details may need to be written in an open area, on the back, or on a small insert.

The final page shows a colorful mermaid surrounded by fish, coral, bubbles, and a crowned pearl. Its two blanks are for the child’s name and age. Write the date, time, address, and RSVP information on the back or include a separate insert.

This whimsical image is a generic mermaid, not Disney’s Ariel. For more ocean-themed birthday party invitations, see these free mermaid birthday party invitations.

Can I Customize These Invitations?

These are blank templates intended to be completed by hand. The file does not contain customizable text fields, photo placeholders, online RSVP tools, or guest tracking.

Someone familiar with Canva or Adobe Acrobat may be able to import a page and customize it by placing text or a graphic over the artwork, but that is a separate editing process and not a built-in feature of this download. If you complete one by hand, you may scan or photograph it for private digital sharing via email.

Supplies Needed:

  • Princess birthday PDF
  • Home printer or local copy shop
  • White matte cardstock
  • Paper trimmer or scissors
  • Dark pen or fine-tip marker
  • 5 x 7-inch envelope, after checking the trimmed size

Use 65- to 80-pound cardstock if your printer supports it. Matte stock is sturdier than copy paper and easier to write on than glossy photo paper.

Preparing Your Princess Invites

  1. Save the file on your computer or device.
  2. Open the document and choose the specific page you would like to use. Producing all pages will give you one copy of every style.
  3. Load white cardstock and make one test copy at Actual Size or 100%.
  4. Check the color, crop marks, writing lines, and edges before making additional copies.
  5. Trim along the crop marks with a paper trimmer or scissors.
  6. Measure the first finished piece before purchasing envelopes, since printer scaling and trimming can slightly affect its size.
  7. Add the party information with a dark pen and let the ink dry before stacking or mailing your birthday party invites.

Make a few extra copies for writing mistakes, late additions, or a birthday scrapbook.

What information should I include?

Before completing the invitations, write down the information you need so every guest receives consistent details:

  • Birthday child’s name and age
  • Party date
  • Start and end time
  • Complete location or address
  • RSVP name, contact information, and deadline
  • Dress-up request or other important instructions

Keep the date, time, location, and RSVP directions easy to find, even when using playful princess wording for your special day.

When Should I Send Birthday Invitations?

Send children’s invites about three to four weeks before the party. Allow more time if the princess-themed birthday falls near a holiday, requires costumes or travel, or takes place at a venue with an attendance deadline.

Count guest households rather than individuals when planning how many copies you need, then add a few extras for mistakes and last-minute additions.
