How do you make Minnie Mouse Cupcakes?
This recipe is for baked-from-scratch cupcakes. If you’re short on time, you can use a box of cake mix to make the cupcakes. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, stir milk, lemon juice, or almond extract (optional). Let sit to create buttermilk.

Mix sugar and melted butter. Add eggs one at a time until well blended at a medium speed.
Alternate flour mixture and buttermilk with the butter, sugar, and eggs. Add teaspoons of vanilla extract, too. Mix just until combined.

Using an ice cream scoop to distribute cake mix evenly, scoop cupcake batter in a cupcake pan into liners 3⁄4 full. Arrange the small circles on a cupcake baking pan covered with parchment paper.

Heat the oven to 350°. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick or cake tester comes clean. Cool on a wire rack. Add pink food coloring to the pink frosting. Line these cupcake cups with paper liners.
Pipe 24 and a few additional bows on parchment paper by filling piping bags with icing.

Orange Butter Cream Frosting
- Sugar
- Butter, softened
- Milk
- Orange oil
- Disney Sugar Candies
- red food coloring to tint frosting
To make the frosting, sift confectioner sugar into a separate bowl and mix it with softened butter, milk, and orange oil until smooth and creamy.

Separate a couple of spoonfuls of buttercream into a small ramekin. Add red food coloring until the desired shade is reached. If you have a bow mold, use it with powdered sugar, then add the melted pink fondant for your fondant bow.

White candy melts could also be an option for your candy bow. You could also put mini Oreos in your fondant to make it look even more creative.

Prepare your decorating tools. Use a tiny round decorating tip for the red homemade buttercream frosting and a large circle tip for the white buttercream. You can also try pink buttercream or cream cheese frosting if you prefer.

To frost the cupcakes, start on the outer edge and squeeze the icing onto the cupcake, going in a circular motion around to the middle, overlapping each layer slightly. Pipe tiny dots, circular patterns, and ribbons around the cupcakes. Top with Disney sugar candies. You can also try Minnie Mouse cupcakes with Oreos.
