How to Make Mickey Mouse-themed Cupcakes:
Ingredients needed to make Mickey Cupcakes – Makes 24 Cupcakes
- Devil’s Food cake mix
- 1 cup of water
- 3 large eggs
- ⅓ cup of vegetable oil
- 48 Oreos
- 3 tubs of vanilla frosting
- 1M Wilton tip
- 1 Wilton disposable piping bag

Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 350°F (177°C) and let it fully preheat while you prepare your batter. A properly heated oven helps your cupcakes rise evenly and bake through perfectly.
Prepare your pan: Lightly grease the sides and bottoms of each cup in your cupcake pan with nonstick spray, butter, or shortening. You can also use cupcake liners for easy cleanup and a neater presentation.
Make the batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Use a hand or stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes, or whisk by hand until the batter is smooth and lump-free. (Check your specific cake mix box for the recommended mixing time and ingredient ratios, as they can vary slightly by brand.)
Fill the cupcake cups: Carefully pour or spoon the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about two-thirds full. This gives the cupcakes room to rise without overflowing.

Bake: Place the pan in the center of the oven and bake for 18–21 minutes, or until the cupcakes spring back lightly when touched in the center and a toothpick inserted into one comes out clean.

Cool completely: Remove the pan from the oven and let the cupcakes cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Allow them to cool completely before frosting or decorating.

Prepare your piping bag:
While the cupcakes are cooling, take your Wilton disposable piping bag and cut off the tip just large enough to fit your 1M star piping tip.
Insert the tip firmly into the opening, making sure it’s snug and won’t move when you add pressure.
Fill the bag with frosting:
Fold the top edge of the piping bag over your hand or the rim of a cup to stabilize it. Use a spatula to spoon the vanilla frosting into the bag, filling it about two-thirds full. Leave some space at the top so you can twist it closed—this prevents frosting from leaking out while you decorate.

Frost the cupcakes:
Make sure the cupcakes are completely cooled before you begin. Hold the piping bag straight above the center of each cupcake and gently squeeze from the top of the bag.
Pipe a smooth swirl of frosting, starting in the center and spiraling outward. Release the pressure and lift the tip straight up to create a neat peak of frosting.

How to Make Mickey Mouse Oreo Cupcakes
These adorable Mickey Oreo Cupcakes are a fun and delicious treat for any Disney fan! They start with a moist Devil’s Food cake base and are topped with creamy vanilla frosting and Oreo “ears.” Perfect for birthday parties, family movie nights, or just a sweet afternoon surprise, these cupcakes are as cute as they are tasty.
Ingredients
- 1 box of Devil’s Food cake mix
- 1 cup of water
- 3 large eggs
- ⅓ cup of vegetable oil
- 48 Oreo cookies (2 per cupcake)
- 3 tubs of vanilla frosting
- Supplies:
- 1M Wilton piping tip
- 1 Wilton disposable piping bag
- Cupcake baking pan
- Nonstick cooking spray or cupcake liners
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Prepare your cupcake pan by either lightly greasing the sides and bottoms of each cup or lining them with cupcake liners.
- Mix the batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Devil’s Food cake mix, water, eggs, and vegetable oil. Use an electric mixer or whisk to blend until smooth and lump-free. (Follow your cake mix box instructions for best results.)
- Fill the cupcake pan: Pour or spoon the batter evenly into the cupcake cups, filling each about two-thirds full to allow room for rising.
- Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 18–21 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
- Cool completely: Remove the cupcakes from the pan and place them on a cooling rack. Allow them to cool fully before decorating to prevent the frosting from melting.
Frosting and Decorating
- Prepare your piping bag: Cut the tip off the disposable piping bag and insert the 1M Wilton star tip. Spoon the vanilla frosting into the bag, filling it about three-quarters full. Twist the top of the bag to keep the frosting secure and prevent leakage.
- Frost the cupcakes: Starting in the center of each cupcake, gently squeeze the piping bag while moving in a circular motion to create a swirl of frosting.
- Add the Mickey ears: Gently press two Oreo cookies into the frosting on the top of each cupcake—one on each side—to form Mickey Mouse ears.
Notes
Tip: For extra fun, you can sprinkle edible glitter or colored sugar on top of the frosting, or use mini Oreos for more miniature cupcakes.
